Alliance Health Networks™ today announced that Thomas B. Simone has joined its board of directors.

Simone is currently a director of United Natural Foods (NASDAQ: UNFI), the largest distributor in the natural, organic and specialty products industry with annual sales of $3.5 billion and more than 6,000 associates. In 1996, he became the first outside director of UNFI and he was its chairman or vice chairman between 1999 and 2009.

Prior to joining the UNFI Board, Simone spent 23 years with McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK), now a $105 billion supplier of pharmaceuticals, health and beauty care products. During his time with McKesson, Simone filled a variety of senior executive positions for the firm and its subsidiaries, including president of McKesson Drug Company and executive vice president and chief financial officer of PCS Health Systems, now part of CVS Caremark (NYSE: CVS).
